Mission Statement

Friends of the Grand Isle Free Library Mission Statement

About the Friends:
Since 2016, the Friends of GIFL have been at work behind the scenes, actively
supporting the mission, programs, events, and staff of the Library through
fundraising, volunteerism, and advocacy.

The Friends are an informal group of library supporters. Our goal is to enhance,
expand, and promote the library’s services and resources. We are community
members who believe that a good library is essential to the educational, cultural,
and economic well-being of our community. We focus public attention on library
services and activities, and help strengthen and expand library services and
materials that might not otherwise be possible.

The Friends of the Grand Isle Free Library is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization
and contributions are fully deductible as allowed by law. Your donations to the
Friends are tax deductible and make it possible for us to raise funds for child and
adult programs, materials, equipment, and services not otherwise included in the
town’s regular library budget.

Meetings are generally held on the third Wednesday of even months at 1pm in the
Library.

See us on Facebook at VT Friends of the Grand Isle Free Library and also check
out the Grand Isle Free Library website for more info on library services and the
Friends.
